الضحى

Ad-Dhuhaa

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِیمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

وَالضُّحَیٰ(1)

By the morning brightness(1)

وَالَّیْلِ إِذَا سَجَیٰ(2)

And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,(2)

مَا وَدَّعَکَ رَبُّکَ وَمَا قَلَیٰ(3)

Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you](3)

وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَیْرٌ لَّکَ مِنَ الْأُولَیٰ(4)

And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life](4)

وَلَسَوْفَ یُعْطِیکَ رَبُّکَ فَتَرْضَیٰٓ(5)

And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied(5)

أَلَمْ یَجِدْکَ یَتِیمًا فََٔاوَیٰ(6)

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?(6)

وَوَجَدَکَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَیٰ(7)

And He found you lost and guided [you],(7)

وَوَجَدَکَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَیٰ(8)

And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient(8)

فَأَمَّا الْیَتِیمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ(9)

So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him](9)

وَأَمَّا السَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ(10)

And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him](10)

وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّکَ فَحَدِّثْ(11)

But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it](11)
