chapter Al-Maa'un

الماعون

Al-Maa'un

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِیمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

أَرَءَیْتَ الَّذِی یُکَذِّبُ بِالدِّینِ(1)

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?(1)

فَذَٰلِکَ الَّذِی یَدُعُّ الْیَتِیمَ(2)

For that is the one who drives away the orphan(2)

وَلَا یَحُضُّ عَلَیٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْکِینِ(3)

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor(3)

فَوَیْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّینَ(4)

So woe to those who pray(4)

الَّذِینَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ(5)

[But] who are heedless of their prayer (5)

الَّذِینَ هُمْ یُرَآءُونَ(6)

Those who make show [of their deeds](6)

وَیَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ(7)

And withhold [simple] assistance(7)
