Ash-Sharh

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِیمِ

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَکَ صَدْرَکَ(1)

Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast?(1)

وَوَضَعْنَا عَنکَ وِزْرَکَ(2)

And We removed from you your burden(2)

الَّذِیٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَکَ(3)

Which had weighed upon your back(3)

وَرَفَعْنَا لَکَ ذِکْرَکَ(4)

And raised high for you your repute(4)

فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًا(5)

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease(5)

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًا(6)

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease(6)

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ(7)

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship](7)

وَإِلَیٰ رَبِّکَ فَارْغَب(8)

And to your Lord direct [your] longing(8)
